The site has over 70,000 SQ.FT, of open storage space available to take contributions. Equipped with loading docks and forklifts to unload your donation.
The site has a landing zone for helicopters as well.
The facility is about two hours from Burnsville, NC the epicenter of the most horrific damage caused by Hurricane Helen.
From October 3 through to current at this main staging hub teams are unloading between 8-12 tractor trailers per day of donations where over 150 volunteers daily sort and pallet the supplies and our teams truck them to the Burnsville, Elk Mountain, Swanona, Bat Cave,Cherokee Reservation and Black Mountain where they are staged at local hubs such as churches, fire stations and community centers. The supplies are then sometimes taken by horseback, ATV or on foot to victims of this tragedy that have no access to resources since all the roads and bridges are gone. Some of these victims of this catastrophe have no electricity, water infrstructure or sewage for the foreseeable future.
